MASTERING SEO CAMPAIGNS, MASTER STEP 2 -     Competitive Analysis

Competitive Analysis helps in generating more keywords to target and in writing a Competitive Analysis Report for clients.

  1. If you are targeting a specific keyword and you want to find out who else is bidding on that keyword in their PPC Campaigns then use www.KeyCompete.com

  2. If you have a specific competitor in mind, and want to see how this competitor ranks in Google, enter their URL into www.SeoDigger.com and you’ll get back a list of keywords and the respective rank of your competitor for those keywords.

  3. To gauge overall competition for a specific keyword, type it in the search box in Google or Yahoo and see how many advertisers are bidding on it.

  4. On any specific competitor page, check keyword density (which keywords appear how often) using www.webuildpages.com/seo-tools/keyword-density  You may also use this tool for your own website in addition to you competitor’s websites.

  5. In Google/Yahoo/Microsoft, in the search box, enter: site:www.YourCompetitor.com to see which pages have been indexed. You may also use this on your own site in addition to competitor websites.

  6. In Google, in the search box enter: link: www.YourCompetitor.com to see how many back links there are to the site that Google knows off.

  7. In Yahoo: in the search box, enter: linkdomain: www.YourCompetitor.com to see how many links there are to the site that Yahoo knows off

  8. In Yahoo, in the search box enter: link:www.YourCompetitor.com for total number of links pointing to the page that Yahoo knows off.
